We are very proud to introduce the Washington 8 as an outstanding member of our new Presidential Collection. This collection features Weather Tech 3000 a highly wind and water resistant tent fabric. The Washington 8 has a 3000mm Hydrostatic Head which means it is able to withstand almost any weather a British camping holiday is likely to enjoy. All seams are taped internally for additional water protection at the weakest point of any tent. Another weak point, the door zip, has additional protection as standard on all our tents. The zips are covered by a weather flap which is velcro closed across the zip to keep out the elements

One of the best features of this tent is the additional 'back door' which allows you to take advantage of the sun (or shade) all day long. It is also quite handy for keeping an eye on children when playing at the back of the tent. There is a canopy feature which allows you to convert either the front or back door into a sunshade (one set of poles included which may be used on either door to provide one canopy - the other door may be rolled up if both doors are required open). For additional ventilation on hot Summers Days (or nights), cooler air may be obtained by opening the tent's ventilation flaps. There is a ventilation flap behind each bedroom pod which, if the weather turns a little too breezy or a chill begins to develop, the ventilation flaps may be partially closed to keep the tent protected and safe from the outside elements. The tent's outer fly sheet has a small gap all the way around the bottom of the tent for additional, all important, ventilation.

This six person tent is reasonably easy to erect, having only six poles to the main outer structure. To make life even easier, this tent comes with Tension Straps which are located at the bottom of the pole sleeves down one side of the tent. These tension straps may be loosened to allow easy insertion of the poles into the pole sleeves and into the locking pins at the base of the tent. When the tent is fully erected, the Tension Straps should be tightened to help keep the tent fabric tight and secure.

The two separate bedroom pods, sometimes called 'inner tents', have sewn in groundsheets, ensuring the sleeping areas remain a completely dry and 'creepy crawly free' zone. The sewn in groundsheets are UV and Mildew Resistant as well as being waterproofed to 3000mm Hydrostatic Head. Additional bug protection for the bedrooms comes in the form of double skin doors, one of which is see-through mesh and may be used on its own as an excellent fly screen as well as providing good ventilation for its sleeping inhabitants. The second door to the bedroom pods helps keep the bedroom free of draughts on chillier nights, as well as providing privacy from anyone using the living area.

The bedrooms comfortably sleep 3 adults or 4 children in each room (please remember that berth sizes for tents never allow for belongings or 'stretching out' so we always recommend you get at least one berth bigger than the actual number of occupants). Each bedroom features two double accessory pockets, ideal for spectacles, mobiles etc. Above the ventilation panel in each bedroom is a small loop which may be used for hanging a lightweight outfit or lantern.

The living area is tall enough for most adults to stand up and there is room for a small table and chairs. Above, is a hanging loop which is useful for attaching a lantern or torch. There is a ventilation panel in the roof which is covered on the outside by a separate flysheet. A large groundsheet (UV and Midlew Resistant) is provided to completely cover the communal area. This removeable groundsheet is ideal for those who do not like a permanent groundsheet. People with dogs, or those entering the tent on a wet day may prefer to walk into a grass floor which will easily absorb dirt and water. Another advantage of non sewn-in groundsheets is the additional ventilation you obtain at the base of the tent. However, if it rains heavily, the groundsheet should be laid down inside the tent to provide protection to your belongings from heavy rainfall seeping through the bottom of the tent.

The two bedrooms, each comes with its own zip close door, provide the opportunity for a range of uses. This versatile arrangement would accommodate sleeping areas for 2 couples, large families or perhaps the use of a bedroom as a separate storage area away from the sleeping and living rooms.
